Not so long ago the internet was the new hot thing, and it was quite different from today. It less centralized, less uniform, more radical and specialized in terms of both design and purpose – not to mention seemingly endless instead of revolving around the same 5 sites or so. In this video I compare the internet of the 2000s to the internet of today, and why I think the nostalgia for the old web is brewing into a revival movement that combines the things we loved about the old web with the conveniences of today. Could websites influenced by myspace, livejournal, newgrounds and neocities be viable today?
